If you've ever tried a low carbohydrate diet, having a repitroire of tasty low carbohydrate recipes that you will actually make is very helpful. When searching for low carb recipes, look for ones with basic ingredients, not fancy ingredients that you may or may not be able to buy at the grocery store. And even though low carb diets are restrictive, you do get lots of meat, cheese and eggs. That's just one of the low carb recipes we'll talk about on this page.

Where to Find Low Carb Recipes
The Internet, of course. There's a plethora of low carb diet recipes out there! A Google search on the term low carb recipes yielded 1,750,000 results. There are all kinds of sites dedicated to providing you with low carb recipes. In addition, the Food Network has a show called Low Carb and Lovin' It, and most libraries and bookstores have cookbooks that have low carb recipes. Because of all their popularity, information about low carb diets has become more readily available than ever.

For your convenience, we've found a few low carb recipes we think sound delicious, and they're easy to make. These cover three meals and make your total carb intake for the day only 11 grams! Great for induction. Bon appetite!

Breakfast Muffins - 1 carb gram per muffin

10 small slices of Canadian Bacon 

6 eggs 

1 1/2 cup low carb baking mix (like CarbSense or Atkins Baking Mix) 

2 cups heavy cream 

1/2 teaspoon salt 

1/4 teaspoon pepper 

2 cups grated cheddar or swiss cheese 

1. Preheat oven to 350 and spray muffin tin with cooking spray.

2. Cut up Candian bacon.

3. Coat muffin tin with cooking spray.

4. In medium bowl, combine eggs, baking mix, heavy cream, Canadian bacon, shredded cheese, salt and pepper together.

5. Scoop 1/3 cup of batter into each muffin tin.

6. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

Ham & Cheese Wrap - 11 grams of carbs

1 whole wheat tortilla

1 ounce lean ham

1 ounce Swiss or Provolone cheese

1. Place tortilla on a toaster oven tray and top with ham and cheese.

2. Toast on medium or until cheese is almost completely melted.

3. Remove from toaster oven, carefully fold or roll and enjoy.

Bacon Cheeseburger Quiche - 2 grams of carbs per serving

2 cups (1 pound) lean ground beef

1 small onion, chopped

4 slices bacon, cooked until crispy then crumbled

3 eggs

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/2 cup heavy cream or half-n-half

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 teasoon garlic powder to taste

White pepper to taste

1. Preheat oven to 350.

2. Brown hamburger in skillet with onion. Remove from skillet and mix with bacon, removing any clumps with a fork. Drain the grease off well, then pour into the bottom of a deep-dish pie plate. Set aside.

3. Beat eggs, then add mayonnaise, half-n-half, cheese and spices and mix well. 

4. Pour egg mixture over beef mixture and bake for 40-45 minutes or until top is set.

5. Cool 15-20 minutes before slicing.

Once upon a time, the above recipes would have been off-limits to any dieter, but when restricted only to low carb food there are actually a lot of options.
